Yes, Asthma can affect pregnancy only if it’s not properly managed. Uncontrolled asthma might lead to risks like low birth weight, early delivery, or high blood pressure (preeclampsia). But here’s the truth — many women with asthma have healthy pregnancies. Taking asthma medications regularly and under a doctor’s advice actually helps in keeping both mother and baby safe.

Asthma can affect pregnancy, as poorly controlled asthma may reduce oxygen supply to both mother and baby, increasing risks like preterm birth, low birth weight, and preeclampsia. However, with proper management—including regular monitoring, medication adherence, and avoiding triggers—most women with asthma have healthy pregnancies. It’s important for pregnant women with asthma to work closely with their healthcare provider to keep symptoms under control and ensure the best outcomes for themselves and their babies.
