Have heard of this news. Since, salads are mostly consumed raw chances of getting microbial infections are higher than consuming well cooked meal. But that doensy mean we should avoid eating our salads. Hand hygine and proper washing vegetables as you mentioned are important steps to reduce chances of infection.
