A chronic lung disease causing breathing difficulties due to airflow obstruction and lung damage.

Types of COPD:

1. Chronic Bronchitis
2. Emphysema
3. Asthma

Causes & Risk Factors:

- Smoking
- Air pollution& occupational exposure
- Genetic factors
- Chronic respiratory infections

Signs & Symptoms:

- Chronic cough
- Shortness of breath
- Wheezing& chest tightness
- Fatigue & frequent lung infections
- Bluish lips

Diagnosis:

- Spirometry (PFT)
- Chest x-ray/ CT scan
- Blood tests& arterial blood gases

Treatment & Management:

- Quit smoking
- Bronchodilators & inhalers
- Corticosteroids
- Oxygen therapy
- Pulmonary rehabilitation & exercise
