Trauma Career Chaos

MBBS: The Never-Ending Course Myth.

MBBS was to be 5.5 years. Welcome, That’s what everybody says. Cute.

then gradually reality takes its course.

First comes internship. Then PG entrance. Then specialization. Then super-specialization. Then perhaps some other test to level your career. And in between you realise that medicine does not really have an ultimate destination–it just continues to lengthen like a never-ending tunnel.

As you are reciting 19th-century syndromes and rare diseases that you keep on pronouncing as you would in history books, your school friends are already out in the school, earning money and updating their facebook pages with information about corporate life.

This thought occurs in the mind of every MBBS student at least once: Am I treating patients. or delaying my own life?

But still you go on. The fact that once you become a part of MBBS, there is no turning back makes it easier to think that, there is no one who wants to leave and, we must not mention that it is not something that can be said aloud.
