As the college ends and you are ready to ace the world, crack the job, and live your dream life, the transition phase hits.

The phase of transition from student to professional—when days feel heavy and uncomfortable.

It’s the phase when hopes are high and dreams are calling, but you feel aimless. In the race of doing all at once, you are unable to do anything.

From waking up with too many tasks to sleeping with too many questions in mind. You have motivation and purpose, but all your mind and body does is escape.

It feels like pushing yourself harder each day; even simple tasks or routines feel daunting. Your body shifts to survival mode.

A phase you are not ready for, but you have to go through.

So relatable, the transition from academic life to the professional life is hardly easy. Before it seems meaningful, growth frequently feels uncomfortable.

So true. Transitioning from student life is a huge shift. I try to take it one day at a time and celebrate the small wins so I don’t feel overwhelmed by the “big picture” all at once.

_Hi Chanisha,_

_You’ve captured the transition phase so honestly, it truly feels heavy and confusing at times. I admire your openness, because many shy away from admitting this struggle._

_At the same time, I’d say the danger lies in letting survival mode become the default. Growth is uncomfortable, yes, but it’s also the bridge to resilience. Instead of escaping, channel that discomfort into small, consistent actions, celebrating progress rather than perfection._

_The professional world doesn’t demand that we do everything at once, but that we show up with persistence. Your reflection is a true reminder that the transition isn’t about being ‘ready,’ but about becoming stronger through the process._

True, managing one day at a time is a lot easier than viewing the whole big picture at once.

Not all growth feels productive. Some growth feels confusing, heavy, and slow and that doesn’t make it any less real.

I haven’t graduate yet, but few months till I start job hunting. I came across a book named “atomic habits”, that says preparing step by step yourself daily for tomorrow will make great stairs to climb and reach your goals. I hope this helps me in future.

I’m still a student but the transition phase for me was after neet ug, it was weird, I had to live all by myself without mum dad and also be responsible and study at the same time.

This phase feels uncertain, but it’s also where real growth begins. Feeling lost doesn’t mean you’re failing—it means you’re stepping into something new and learning along the way.

That transition phase is heavy, but it’s also shaping you quietly. It’s the discomfort of growth the stretch between who you were and who you’re becoming. Even when routines feel daunting, remember that survival mode is still progress; you’re building resilience day by day. Dreams don’t vanish in this fog they’re waiting for you on the other side of persistence. Trust the process, breathe through the overwhelm, and let small steps carry you forward until clarity returns.

I take it one day, one small win at a time, trusting that clarity follows consistency.
