When any one does any business in family, does any body ask them anything for free?when they open a shop then they charge for their product, right?

Then why medical professionals are expected to give free consultations?our knowledge is our assets which we charge for!

Today one of my real relative calls ask for the remedy for cheek bite.I am all there for them once or twice but they have made this a habit of asking free consultations without visiting clinic.

Whenever we are attending any social gatherings ,birthday parties or wedding they expect us to do oral examination without any proper instrument

I find it really disrespectful!

**Did other healthcare professional have ever faced this issue? And what are ur views on this?**

The shopkeeper analogy lands perfectly. Free advice once is goodwill; free consultations forever is a boundary problem.

Yes.I find this really disrespectful. I have faced similar situations. Not only a disrespect, it’s also like mocking our profession.

The embarrassment is so real that it actually makes us doubt our profession.
