The Biology behind Hunger and Satiety

In our fast paced lives we often tend to ignore the homeostatic hunger and give in for the hedonic hunger. Following our body’s circadian rhythm by establishing regular and disciplined patterns for eating and sleeping would make a great difference.

Great points! Hunger isn’t just a ‘stomach’ thing; it’s a complex dialogue between our gut, our brain, and our environment. When I’m deep in research or clinical shifts, I see how easily stress and lack of sleep can throw this delicate balance off. Breaking down the biology helps take the ‘guilt’ out of eating and turns it into a conversation about metabolic health instead. Thanks for sharing this!

Very well explained about hunger and satiety.

The biggest difference in daily routine is mindful eating, listening to hunger and fullness cues. Balanced meals, hydration, and regular mealtimes also help.

Poor sleep disrupts hunger hormones, increases cravings, and reduces satiety signals. Over time, this imbalance can silently contribute to unwanted weight gain and metabolic issues.
