Forcing underprivileged women into surrogacy under false promises and selling infants is not just illegal, it’s inhumane. It is like exploiting one’s emotions and vulnerabilities. Strict rules and regulations must be implemented to regulate fertility clinics, particularly with records, informed consent process, transparency with the procedures and confidentiality measures. Also strict actions must be taken in case of any violation or non-adherence to the rules and regulations. No couple should ever again face this inhumanity.

Government should make clear laws defining types of surrogacy, emphasize on the importance of consent, set strict age, health and compensatory criteria to prevent exploitation. Licensing of fertility clinics and frequent inspections will help in reducing such incidents. Education and awareness related to the topic can reduce exploitation amongst women entering such arrangements.

The investigation revealed not only child trafficking, but also widespread lapses in clinic oversight across Telangana. It’s clear: along with strict regulation, mandatory DNA checks throughout the IVF process are urgently needed to protect families and trust in reproductive care.
