They provide services like medication therapy management, adverse drug reaction monitoring, patient counseling, and participation in multidisciplinary healthcare teams. Their role is expanding in hospitals, pharmacovigilance, research, and public health to improve treatment outcomes and reduce medication-related problems.

Clinical pharmacists are key players in patient care not just dispensers. They:

- Manage medication therapy to ensure safety and effectiveness, catching issues like overdoses, skipped doses, or harmful interactions.

- Offer medication counseling educating patients and healthcare teams on proper use, side effects, and lifestyle support.

- In India, pharmacist-led programs for conditions like COPD and cancer have cut medication costs by ~30% and preserved patients’ quality of life through better monitoring.

- Actively contribute in telemedicine and care rounds, managing therapies remotely and supporting patient follow-ups.
