Prosthesis and Orthosis

Orthoses (braces/splints) and prostheses (artificial limbs) are specialized medical devices designed to improve mobility, function, and quality of life for individuals with physical impairments. These devices are very much essential components of rehabilitation.

  • Orthoses support, stabilize, align, and correct existing deformities. It also helps to improve the function of an existing weak or injured part or limb of the body.
  • Prostheses replace the missing body parts anatomically that are lost during amputation, trauma, or congenital deficiency.

Are you also confused between prosthetics and orthotics? Have you ever referred a patient to the rehab expert for customized prostheses and orthoses?
