Depends upon multiple factors. Interest or disinterest in clinical practice, interest in administration, teaching, research dictate the choices.
Many physicians do clinical practice for several years and then start taking up administrative responsibilities also.
But some physicians out of their college and they directly opt for research or public health or hospital administrative Jobs. So it depends!

Several factors:-

1. Interest
2. Time that we can dedicate
3. Work life balance
4. Shifts
5. Emergencies
6. Flexible schedules
7. Stability
8. Responsibilities

Out of which “interest” is the key to excel… If we have interest in a particular field , we will excel and perform our best.
