Many people think that every side effect is mild and very common but it is not true. Some side effects like drowsiness, nausea, headache may go away on own but some effects are very serious and need medical attention.

Eg:- simple antibiotics like Amoxicillin can in cause severe reaction with difficulty in breathing and swelling of face and throat. This needs medical emergency.

So patient should be encouraged to recognise and unusual side effects early.

True, understanding the dosage for all diseases is very important as a budding doctor because even a slight variation can cause life-threatening side effects.
