Ever eaten a green chilli by mistake and felt like your mouth is on fire? 🔥 Here’s the science behind it!

👉 Chillies contain a compound called **capsaicin**.
It doesn’t actually burn your tongue, but it **tricks your brain** into thinking there’s heat. That’s why your eyes water, nose runs, and you reach for water (which never helps 😅).

🧪 Fun fact: Capsaicin binds to the same receptors in your mouth that sense real heat — so your brain literally thinks it’s fire.

Health twist:

- In small amounts, chilli can **boost metabolism** and help digestion.
- Too much? It may cause acidity or stomach irritation.

Pro tip: If chilli feels too hot, skip water. Drink **milk or eat curd** 🥛 — the fat in dairy washes away capsaicin better.

✨ So next time you bite a spicy mirchi, remember: It’s just science playing a prank on your taste buds!
