Translational medicine is turning futuristic ideas into reality, and **liquid biopsies** are a perfect example. Instead of invasive tissue biopsies, doctors can now analyze **circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA)** from a simple blood draw to detect cancer early, track treatment response, and spot relapse months before imaging scans can.
Trials have shown that liquid biopsies detect mutations in **lung, breast, and colorectal cancers** with remarkable accuracy. As costs drop, this approach could make routine cancer screening as simple as a blood test at your annual checkup.

Informative and advantageous. Difficulty in taking biopsies of various internal organs can be averted. Also, reduction in time for diagnosis will also hasten treatment.

Liquid biopsies mainly analyze blood to detect cancer-related markers like circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) and circulating tumor cells (CTCs).
