More patients, especially young adults are showing up with heart issues but no major lifestyle red flags. Could chronic stress be the underestimated villian here?

Cardiovascular diseases have been termed as the new pandemic.
Youngsters and adults alike, have attributed stress as the one only other causative factor, among the copious amounts of salts, saturated fats, processed sugars and lifestyle habits.
Some undeniable facts remain-

1. People, young or old, will continue to consume foods that are cooked in saturated fats/sugars/salt, NOT because they want to, but because they cant help it.
2. Industrial production of unhealthy foods/beverages may not change overnight, but the way we pick our eating plan is changeable.
3. Lifestyle modifications are possible when an effort to replace it with something good is put in.
4. The ability for a person to swap a cigarette with a breathing-work session/fresh fruit snack/gulps of a fresh made beverage, should be made understood as the sensible option.
5. Wellness guidance should be made affordable, people fear going to dance/yoga/meditation/etc because of exceptionally high membership charges.
The red flags need to turn green, but people need to find resources that help them to.

Definitely. Stress can gradually cause damages in the heart. Every time, the body is in fight-flight-freeze mode, it causes the rush of blood flow inside the body, so that the body can cope-up with the emergency situations. During this time, hyperventilation happens including chest tightness and pulse rate gets high, sometimes leading to a rise in BP too. If this process happens continiously due to regular stress and anxiety, it disrupts the normal physiological mechanism of the heart pumping blood and distributing oxygen throughout the body including brain. So, if not tackled properly, stress can cause heart-related issues. They many not happen instantly and can build up gradually. Also depending upon the other lifestyle factors of the person, the issues can develop or get regulated.

Increasing evidence do suggest that chronic stress is emerging as one of the major cardiovascular risk factor. Stress triggers the release of hormones like cortisol and adrenaline, which elevate blood pressure, increase heart rate, and promote inflammation. Over time, this can damages the blood vessels, accelerate atherosclerosis, and disrupt heart rhythm. Behavioral responses to stress, like overeating, smoking, or poor sleep, further amplify the risk. Stress is now common in people of all age groups. We should find a way suitable for us to reduce this stress.
