Is Medicine Still a Safe Career in the Age of AI and Saturation?

Health is very sensitive topic in terms of AI, it can definitely help in the burnout but cannot be reliable to its extent. People will need an accountable person who can understand their emotions as well as communicate with them.

Sit back and relax! AI is never going to replace humans in any of the working domains. Well, this is true that more and more AI trained manpower will be needed everywhere. The span of work that should be done by a machine, will be done by AI. AI is trained by human annotators to generate the most relevant answers with least errors. It can not produce novel ideas or anything new as humans can. AI can never eliminate the excellence of human brain.

AI is definitely playing a big role, not only in healthcare but in every industry. But i think AI is very particular, means what input you put on it according to that only they gave the answer. If you missed any point or symptom or AI interprets it in other way due to any language then the answer totally changes and in healthcare this makes a lot difference.
AI can provide basic information but we can’t rely 100% on it.
So, in healthcare their is a need of doctor for proper diagnosis as patient can’t totally dependent on it.

I wouldn’t say that AI is a danger to medical professionals. Its basically a supportive tool which is assissting clinical professionals to ease their task. Its not replacing professionals its just acting as an assisstant to help them with drafting and documenting. This is simply a tool which need proper guidance to function properly. So its safe to say its not replacing clinical professionals rather assissting them to help them with burnouts.

AI must be seen as a tool that’ll help healthcare professionals and not as a threat

i disagree with the fact that machines can replace human in work place completely specially in medicine there is still a long way to go, AI can provide support but not replace people in science it can design experiment and provide solution but execution still require human force. medicine and human body is very unpredictable, AI will design say an experiment considering every individual same so its still lack precision and basic human logic.

AI has definitely caused a revolution in all fields of engineering but AI in health care settings is still a field in development and utilizing AI efficiently in healthcare needs further exploration. Of course we cannot deny the use of AI in data collection, data analysis, biomedical research, article writing and publications, but clinically AI can only aid in diagnosis and treatment decision making but not empathetically dealing with the patient first hand. Being a doctor will always remain a noble career to be taken up for persons to grow financially as well as provide service to society.

whatever the AI do but it cannot replace a good physician. i agree that AI will reduce our work and precisely help in diagnosis and treatment of disease but completely trust on them is a wrong idea because they may produce a false diagnosis, the real physician only can diagnose the disease accurately by check the pulse of the patient, or even ask directly to the patients.

Highly debatable. Both has pros and cons.

AI cannot replace human intelligence and judgment. It only helps to summarise or gather data, but the final decision is always with the human using the AI. AI cannot replace doctors; it will only give an edge to those who know how to use it.

“AI” recently it’s been every where. All are thinking that AI would be the competition for humans but in reality as mentioned in the post the AI is unable make decions regarding what is correct or wrong it just give suggestions to us so thisnproves that humans need is still valuable

It is an insightful article, which I definitely agree with. How with every invention in medical field our knowledge improves, similarly with AI it is time we upgrade and inculcate it to help us.
