This is a very informative thread, but can a drug be classified as fake even if it is reasonably effective? The points stated are valid, but if it is released into the market with some potential for treatment how does it get removed?

Fake drugs may be rare but if observed should be reported as soon as possible to the control authorities so that they can take necessary action to prevent continuation of the drug in the market

Spotting fake drugs isn’t just about being sharp it’s about protecting lives. One small detail can save someone from a serious health risk.

Here’s what I keep in mind:

  • Stick to licensed pharmacies.
  • Always check packaging for spelling errors, faded text, or broken seals.
  • Use verification tools like QR codes or apps like “Medsafe” or “PharmaSecure.”
  • When in doubt, compare with a verified sample.

Personally, I believe awareness + tech = the best defense.

Totally agree! I use official verification apps and always check batch numbers. Educating patients to avoid unverified sources is just as important. :pill::white_check_mark:
