How to diagnose your own "Learning Gaps" like a pro?

I make sure to discuss each and every case with my colleagues irrespective of their specialization. As this helps me to listen and learn, also their perspective which could help me in some way or the other.

Your “self-diagnosis” framework is both simple to follow and effective. This method is a really effective way of brushing up the concepts and re-calling forgetfull topics.

Thank you for sharing well-enriched content with us. These are true brain-boosting pills for everyone, not only for students.

I think recalling at least once at the end of the day is the best approach to sharpening our knowledge.

While preparing for competitive exams, I learned the whole syllabus in a time-bound manner, but lack of reevaluation loosened my confidence in the exam hall.

“I’ve found that incorporating active recall significantly enhances my study efficiency. Rather than focusing on rote memorization of terminology, I dedicate time to synthesizing the underlying physiological concepts and clinical logic.”

Honestly , understanding our learning gaps the first step towards the real growth . Regular self assessment, feedback and implementation with guidance from mentors can help us to improve these gaps . And instead of just studying blindly without any practical approach. This method can be very helpful for long term learning.

Very well written.

This is absolutely right way. This helps to make batter understanding and concept building . Helps to know the mistakes commonly made by us. As for me I also prefer making flashcards and active recall based study.

I think there is still a huge gap in the way we are experiencing education,it should be practical more than it is theoretical. We are not able to apply it because our brain knows images and doesn’t know words. Its high time that we should teach our professors that how should they teach students in universities.

We need to stay updated which can be done through CMEs , attending conferences etc

Very true reviewing the cases building our knowledge on the basis of what we did wrong is the easiest way to learn everyday

This is actually so helpful never thought of analyzing my learning gaps this systematically. The idea of treating it like a “diagnosis + treatment” makes it feel much more practical and less overwhelming. Definitely going to try this approach in my studies!

I often feel that identifying about learning gaps is something we all overlook during the time of our preparation. It is very important for us to reflect back on what has gone wrong on each test we give and to review on the right answers thereafter. Its not just about how much of a capacity we can study but its also on how well we are able to understand on how we are going by with your studies.

knowing learning gap is great start of improvement and growth. These method are good start to understand that. Other then that we can also take help from others like taking courses and lectures on topic you know and new topics too.

This such a helpful post. I have never thought of addressing my learning gaps this way and this post has me intriguted. I will use this framework to quickly evaluate my learning gaps and work towards minimizing this gap.

Its good to know and At first we need to evaluate ourself and ask question and their answers by self. It will also help to learn new things.
