Frequent and prolonged use of earbuds if operated at very high volumes, can actually lead to permanent hearing damage. This is because it can harm the cochlear hair cells that are responsible for sound detection and moreover these cells cannot regenerate once they are damaged. Anything if we are listening above 85 decibels for an extended time period, it increases the risk of hearing loss and this has been particularly observed in adolescents and young adults. Also, unlike over-ear headphones, earbuds generally fit much closer to our eardrum, and this amplifies the sound pressure levels and ultimately results in increased inner ear strain. Besides, frequent earbud use without apt cleaning methods can also increase the incidence of ear infections due to bacterial buildup/moisture retention.

Your ears are amazing, but they’re also delicate. And once your hearing is gone, it’s gone for good. So enjoy your music. But do it wisely. Because silence shouldn’t be the price you pay for sound.

Using headphones too much or at high volume can hurt your ears. It can lead to hearing problems over time because the sound is too loud for your ears to handle. To protect your hearing, try not to turn up the volume too high or listen for too long without breaks. A good rule is to keep it at 60% of the max volume and take breaks every hour.

</div>

Yes, I’ve started thinking about this recently. Using headphones or earbuds at high volume for long time can really damage our ears. It can cause hearing loss, ringing sounds, and even permanent problems. I read that sounds above 85 dB can harm ear cells in just a few minutes. We should follow the 60/60 rule—60% volume for 60 minutes max. Better to enjoy music safely than regret later.

Constant exposure to loud sound levels can lead to noise-induced hearing loss, a condition that’s often permanent.

Using earbuds at high volume for extended hours can strain your ears, damage delicate hair cells in the inner ear, and even cause tinnitus — that annoying ringing or buzzing sound that won’t go away.

If uses in excess volume and daily usage for long periods of time causes a lot of damage. We should use it only when it’s actually needed while travelling , gym and other reasons. If not controlled , it leads to hearing loss and other problems over time.
