Hair serums are trending everywhere today, with claims of repairing damage, controlling hair fall, and giving long-lasting shine. But as users, many of us are left confused, do these serums actually improve hair health or do they only give a temporary cosmetic effect?

From a dermatologist’s perspective, I want to understand the real truth. Can hair serums genuinely repair damaged hair strands? And are frequent applications safe for long-term use?

As someone trying to care for hair properly, I would like to know what dermatologists truly recommend, whether hair serums are necessary, how to use them correctly, and what real solutions exist for long-term hair health beyond marketing claims.
