What were some of the most memorable experiences during the Family Adoption Program visit?
Mine are
1st year - we got free early and ate home made idli, medu vada and sambhar which they locally sell on cycles. Plucked fresh mangoes
2nd year - Rain destroyed the mood
3rd year - we got free in 30 mins and went to shore nearby at distance of 10 mins.

FAP I think is a memorable event of medical life.
In first year - we adopted two families, they told all details easily, then I met that two same families two to three times.
In second year - one family is normal and gave the information but another family even didn’t open the door and I heard the sounds of anger inside the house that " this girl come frequently and waste our in early morning". And then I ran away from my family
…I think this was funniest moment of my life.
Then I took some sips of tea and returned to college.

We used to adopt a village under Comm Med Department and each med std was assigned to a few a families, typically 3-4 families.
Camps were also held.
I and a couple of my batchmates would venture into orange fields (oh, yes the famous oranges of Nagpur region). The complaint reached our head and we had to stop the practice with heavy heart. This was during the very first 2-weeks camps that was held in the village.
Overall, FAP gave us a lot of education and memories would not fade away. I am still touch with one of the members from one of the families. Vilas got a job at our college later on and he is still there working in the wards.

We met a warm elderly couple who welcomed us like family, shared stories from their youth, talked about village life, and even offered us tea. Their kindness made the visit truly unforgettable.

We went to a home that had a monkey and a parrot as pets! We offered a biscuit to that monkey & the parrot started shouting towards us😂
