Endometrial Hyperplasia is a condition in which the **lining of the uterus (endometrium) becomes thicker than normal** due to excessive growth of endometrial cells.

This often occurs when there is too much estrogen and not enough progesterone in the body.

**Common Symptoms:**

🔹 Heavy or prolonged menstrual bleeding

🔹 Irregular periods

🔹 Bleeding between periods

🔹 Bleeding after menopause

**Who Is at Higher Risk?**

• Women with PCOS

• Obesity or overweight

• Diabetes

• Hormonal imbalance

• Women approaching menopause

**Why Is It Important?**

Some types of endometrial hyperplasia can increase the risk of developing endometrial cancer if left untreated.

**Can It Be Treated?**

- Hormonal therapy (such as progesterone)
- Weight management and lifestyle changes
- Regular gynecological follow-up

**Abnormal uterine bleeding should never be ignored. Early diagnosis and treatment can help prevent complications**.

**Did you know that obesity can increase estrogen levels and contribute to endometrial hyperplasia?**

Obesity is one the risk factor for developing endometrial hyperplasia. Fat tissue contains high levels of aromatase enzyme, which is responsible for converting androgens to estrogens. In obese individuals where fat tissue is abundant, which can lead to increase in levels of aromatase enzyme which leads to increased estrogen levels.

When uterine wall is continuously exposed to estrogen without enough progesterone, the cells overgrow, leading endometrial hyperplasia.
