For decades, many people believed that 90% of the brain stays unused.

Reality: Brain scans such as fMRI and PET show that different regions become active throughout the day while studying, talking, exercising, dreaming and even sleeping.

**Think about it: if most of the brain were useless, why would damage to small areas affect memory, speech, emotions or movement?**

### The real answer

- ❌ Myth: We use only 10% of our brain.
- ✅ Fact: We use virtually all parts of the brain, just not all at the same moment.

What do you think limits human performance more—unused brain power, lack of practice or lack of focus?

I believe the biggest limitation isn’t unused brain power but a lack of consistent practice and focus. Our brain has remarkable potential, and developing skills through regular learning, discipline, and experience helps us make the best use of it.

Brain works like a one neuron based computer and every part connected with each other show how could it be possible the only 10 percent of computer works without involving rest.

I used to believe the “10% of the brain” myth too, but learning how different brain regions activate for different tasks completely changed my perspective. I think the biggest limitation isn’t unused brain power—it’s poor focus, lack of quality sleep, and not practicing consistently. Our brain adapts when we give it the right environment. Great myth-busting post! 👏

I think it’s less about “unused” brain power and more about undertrained brain power. Just like muscles weaken without regular exercise, neural pathways strengthen with repeated practice and focused effort. Constant multitasking may feel productive, but it often fragments attention, reducing the deep focus needed to build new skills and stronger neural connections.

Reading this reminded me that our brain is constantly working even when we’re asleep. I think the biggest limitation isn’t our brain’s ability but how we use it through learning, practice, and maintaining good mental health.
