As young citizens, why are we talking more about reels than research, more about controversies than innovation, and more about influencers than the future we're going to inherit?

A very important reminder! If we use social media wisely, it can help us learn, share knowledge, and discover new ideas.

Social Media sucks. The most devastating effect is on children and teens. The constant social media and screens take away the ability to feel emotions and result in loss of what experts call auto-biographical planning. This can be understood by the fact that they do not even get time to reflect, ponder and think about the life/future.

I think this is something that needs to be discussed. Now a days people are just using social media for their entertainment, they spend maximum hours in scrolling reels, watching blogs and all. If they will start using it for materialistic purpose then it will bring a lot of difference.

Such beautifully written and inspiring post. We should give more importance and credit to real talks and issues and keep our curiosity alive always.

Today we have more information at our fingertips than ever before. I have noticed a rise in the number of educational and infotainment content creators producing genuinely valuable content. The problem is that having more information has also made navigating it more challenging. There’s an endless stream of clickbait, outrage, controversy, AI slop, and mindless content competing for our attention. Not easy navigating through the noise and finding what is actually worth our time.

Algorithms are designed to capture our attention, making distraction far easier than the pursuit of knowledge. Knowledge requires time, focus, and sustained attention, while distractions offer immediate gratification with little effort.

Yeah, but talking more about reels then innovations and research is completely depends on the person and his/ her own decision. That means not focusing on the research or something else can’t decide their future! The thing is allocating the time to the things..balancing the the things what really matters, the social media is not exactly the distraction the person’s own decision to things does.

Well said! The years between 15 and 25 truly shape our future. Social media is powerful when used with purpose. Imagine if curiosity, ethics, and research went viral. That’s a generation worth building. Thank you for sharing!

As young citizens, we are just surrounded by the content that just attracts us towards it. Reel are easy to understand and scroll upon rather than actually searching and thinking about a said topic. It is actually more time consuming compared to reels. We should just take more care of what we are learning and discussing.

Social media is the worst or good tool , it depends on your thinking and you. The Brain fog that slow down the capability of thinking complex thing and the main reason of the Brain fog is the social media .

Social media just change the perspective of the youth.

Very true

Social media should be consumed very intentionally not just any unnecessary information

I feel what we consume more,we think more
Easy access to social media for everyone really made our mind more into reels, controversies.
