Milky teeth will call anyway and is it important to treat them or save them?

This is the most common mindset and question asked by parents to dentist.

Milk teeth plays a very important role following-

- Jaw shape and size which ultimately define facial structure.
- Chewing function.
- TMJ function stability.
- Speech developement.
- Mainten space for permanent teeth.

Common problem with Milky teeth are-

- Dental caries.
- Tooth infection.
- Habits like tongue thrusting or finger tugging.

Some precaution to keep milky teeth healthy-

- Brushing regularly.
- Avoiding over eating sweeten foods.
- Gargling after every meal.

IMPORTANT: Dental care of milky teeth at young age by parents can indeed save the future permanent teeth and avoid dental procedures.

Milky teeth act as guide for upcoming permanent teeth. Premature loss of milky teeth due to decay, impacts the alignment of permanent teeth which would require orthodontic treatment in future.
