Eli Lilly launches once-monthly Alzheimer drug Lormalzi in India Global pharma giant Eli Lilly has launched **Lormalzi® (donanemab)** in India — a once-monthly therapy for patients with **early-stage Alzheimer’s disease**. This marks India’s first approved amyloid plaque-targeting treatment for Alzheimer’s. **How does it work?** Lormalzi is designed to remove **amyloid plaques** in the brain — abnormal protein deposits associated with memory decline and cognitive impairment. By targeting these plaques, the drug may help slow disease progression in patients with mild cognitive impairment or mild dementia due to Alzheimer’s disease. **Benefits** - • Once-monthly IV infusion • Approved for early symptomatic Alzheimer’s disease • Focuses on disease modification rather than only symptom relief India currently has an estimated **8.8 million people living with dementia** , and this number is expected to rise significantly in the coming years. till now, we have heard that there is no such cure of this disease physiostigmine was the sole drug that i read I hope this drug will be the healer ---

I do believe disease modifying therapies can work so much better to treat such disorders.The only concern that remains is that neurological disorders have certain limitations to their studies certain parts remain unexplored owing to the complexity.So even though future of Alzheimer care can be improved there are still many challenges in the way.
